ON AUGUST 2, 2019 ON BEHALF OF THE PRESIDIUM OF MOSCOW CITY BAR ASSOCIATION “BUREAU OF LAWYERS “DE JURE”, LAWYER, MEMBER OF THE PRESIDIUM, DEPUTY HEAD OF THE BUREAU A.V.POGODIN TOOK PART IN THE PUBLIC HEARINGS “MODERN METHODS OF PROTECTING CITIZENS FROM DRUGS” WHICH WERE HELD BY THE PUBLIC CHAMBER OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION.

Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – the law enforcement practice and the development of public control over the work of law enforcement agencies.

A.V.Pogodin made a report on the problems of legal practice, violations of the law during the preliminary investigation and operational-search activities, announced proposals to change the existing legislation in terms of easing penalties for the purchase of narcotic drugs (article 228 of the Criminal Code), increase the standard of proof, criminal liability differentiation  and the size of punishment for  the sale of drugs in terms of size, ultimate goal, nature and consequences (article 228.1 of the Criminal Code).
